Jumbo is seeking a (Senior) Structural Engineer to strengthen its Engineering Department at the company’s headquarters in Schiedam, Netherlands. The position supports projects across Jumbo’s Shipping, Offshore and New Building activities.

Responsibilities include vessel structural assessments, FEM and hand calculations, design of grillages, sea-fastening and vessel modifications, as well as coordination of fabrication and installation scopes. Key Requirements

  • BSc/MSc in Mechanical, Civil or Offshore Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline
  • Around 10 years of structural steel design and Heavy Lift project experience
  • Strong FEM experience, including ANSYS Workbench, plus hand-calculation capability
  • Knowledge of marine classification rules and structural standards such as DNV, LR and ABS
  • Good understanding of Shipping and Offshore operations; fluent English required
