All monopile foundations have been installed at the Yeonggwang Nakwol offshore wind project in South Korea, marking a key construction milestone for the 364.8 MW development led by Nakwol Blue Heart (Nakwol Wind).

The project is located off Nakwol-myeon in Jeollanam-do Province and will use 64 Vensys wind turbines, each rated at 5.7 MW. Once commissioned, it is expected to become one of South Korea’s first large-scale commercial offshore wind farms. Commercial operation is expected later this year.

The wind farm produced first power in December 2025, while turbine installation is now progressing at the site.

The monopiles were supplied by GS Entec and Sif. Installation was carried out by Samhae ENC in cooperation with Toseong Construction and Hansan Maritime, using the jack-up vessel Hansan 1.

In July 2025, Taihan Cable & Solution announced that it had completed export cable installation for the project. The company also installed the inter-array cables.

Earlier project information showed that Nakwol Wind secured a grid connection agreement with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and a 20-year renewable energy certificate sale and purchase agreement with Korea Southern Power, a wholly owned subsidiary of KEPCO. The REC agreement will run from the project’s commercial operation date.
