Houston-based GATE Energy has been awarded the full commissioning scope for BP’s Kaskida Floating Production Unit (FPU), a major deepwater development in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
The greenfield project lies about 200 miles offshore Galveston in the Keathley Canyon area. Under the contract, GATE Energy will oversee static and dynamic commissioning, systems completion, and interface management. According to the company, safety and operational excellence will remain central throughout the delivery phase.
“Winning the Kaskida commissioning scope demonstrates our ability to integrate resources across the U.S. and Asia-Pacific to deliver for BP,” said Lee Jordan, CEO of GATE Energy, noting that the project strengthens the firm’s role in BP’s deepwater portfolio.
Mark Myhre, President of Commissioning, emphasized that the deal continues GATE’s collaboration with Seatrium, following their successful partnership on the Argos platform. “Seatrium has once again selected GATE as their commissioning provider, underscoring the trust built over multiple projects,” he said.
The award reinforces GATE Energy’s track record in floating production projects fabricated by Seatrium and cements its role as a preferred commissioning partner in the Gulf of Mexico.
