HEA Energy has agreed to acquire the Seaway7 heavy transport business, known as Seaway7 Heavy Transport, from Seaway7, part of the Subsea7 Group. Completion is expected in the first half of 2027, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

According to Subsea7’s announcement on 5 November 2026, the transaction covers six open-deck semi-submersible heavy transport vessels: five owned by Seaway7 Heavy Transport and one chartered from a third party. The announcement does not name the vessels. The Seaway7 fleet page lists Seaway Eagle, Seaway Falcon, Seaway Hawk, Seaway Osprey, Seaway Albatross and Seaway Swan.

The vessels transport offshore wind foundations, substations, jack-up units, modules and other oversized cargo. Seaway7 says its semi-submersible vessels cover cargo sizes up to 55,000 tonnes. Seaway Eagle has transported dredger Tian Qi Hao, as detailed in Seaway Eagle Delivers Tian Qi Hao to Bonny.

The financial terms have not been disclosed. The sale is a permitted divestment under Subsea7’s merger agreement with Saipem and will trigger a previously approved €105 million special dividend to Subsea7 shareholders. The dividend is due at the earlier of the transaction closing and the date immediately before the proposed merger takes effect. Processing and distribution are expected to take up to two weeks, Subsea7 said.

In its 5 November 2026 announcement, HEA Energy said the acquisition follows its purchase of the jack-up vessels Thor and Wind Lift 1 from Semco Maritime in August 2026.
