Jumbo Offshore has completed the VMOS installation campaign in Argentina, International Transport Journal reported on 5 November.
The campaign used the DP2 heavy-lift vessel Jumbo Javelin to transport two CALM buoys weighing about 340 tonnes each and two Pipeline End Manifolds (PLEMs) weighing up to 232 tonnes. The cargo was loaded ship to ship in Muscat, Oman, before the vessel sailed to Argentina via the Cape of Good Hope.
At the project site, Jumbo Offshore installed both PLEMs and discharged the two buoys, according to the report.
The VMOS export system links Vaca Muerta to a marine terminal near Punta Colorada through a 437-km pipeline. It is designed to transport up to 550,000 barrels of oil per day, with the capacity to increase to 700,000 barrels per day.
