Seaway7 has completed the East Anglia Three cable laying campaign at the 1.4 GW offshore wind farm in the UK, laying 95 inner-array cables totalling more than 240 km.

The work involved loading, laying and pulling the cables into the turbine foundations. Testing, termination and trenching activities remain underway as Seaway7 progresses the remaining work under its contract.

The milestone follows the completion of all 95 monopile foundations and transition pieces in August. Seaway7 carried out the foundation installation using its jack-up vessel Seaway Ventus.

Under its 2023 contract with ScottishPower Renewables, Seaway7 is responsible for the transportation and installation of the foundations, seabed preparation, scour protection and the engineering, supply and installation of the inner-array cables.

Located approximately 69 km off the Suffolk coast, the GBP 4 billion East Anglia Three project is jointly owned by ScottishPower Renewables and Masdar.

The wind farm will feature 95 Siemens Gamesa turbines rated at 14.7 MW each, with 115-metre blades. Turbine installation is also underway, with the project expected to become fully operational by the end of 2026.
