Fan Zhou 8 has departed China with 3,116 teu of containers under a charter arranged by Germany’s Carrier53′ Shipping, working with container trader Lotus Containers.

The cargo consisted of 1,558 high-cube containers, each 40 ft long. Carrier53′ Shipping chartered the heavy-load deckship from Jiangsu Fanzhou Shipping for loading at Taicang, near Shanghai, in September.

The stowage arrangement used 17 bays and 20 rows on the open deck. Containers were stacked up to five tiers, with the outer rows kept to two tiers, according to the report.

After loading, the vessel headed towards the Red Sea. The report did not disclose its final destination.

China Classification Society’s vessel record identifies Fan Zhou 8 as a deck cargo ship built in 2024, with Jiangsu Fanzhou Shipping as its registered owner. It records a deadweight of 58,405 tonnes, an overall length of 256 m and a moulded breadth of 51 m.

Carrier53′ Shipping also transports 53 ft containers manufactured in China for the North American market. The company’s website says its business began with 53 ft container movements between China and North America before expanding into on-demand liner services.
