Solstad Offshore ASA has exercised a $125 million purchase option for the construction support vessel Normand Maximus, with the acquisition scheduled for October 2027.

The option was declared on 6 October 2026 by Normand Maximus AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Solstad Offshore ASA.

The transaction is based on a bareboat charterparty signed on 7 October 2022 between Normand Maximus AS, as charterer, and Maximus Shipping AS, as owner.

Under the agreement, Normand Maximus AS was granted an option to acquire Normand Maximus after five years for $125 million, subject to 12 months’ advance notice.

Following the exercise of the option, Maximus Shipping AS is scheduled to deliver the vessel to Normand Maximus AS in October 2027. The existing bareboat charter will terminate upon delivery.

Maximus Shipping AS is wholly owned by Solstad Maritime ASA, which separately confirmed that the purchase option had been exercised.

Solstad Offshore ASA said it plans to finance the $125 million acquisition through external debt financing.

The 178 m Normand Maximus is the largest vessel in Solstad’s fleet. The construction support vessel is equipped with a 900 t active heave-compensated crane and a 550 t vertical lay system and can accommodate up to 180 people.
