UK engineering company SLPE has secured wind turbine foundation engineering work from EnBW for the 1 GW Dreekant offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

The contract covers concept engineering, front-end engineering design (FEED) and detailed design of the wind turbine foundations. After the detailed design phase, SLPE is expected to support fabrication, installation and commissioning activities.

Dreekant is being developed by EnBW in the German Exclusive Economic Zone. The offshore wind farm will have an installed capacity of 1,000 MW and occupy an area of around 80 km².

EnBW plans to use monopile foundations at the site, where water depths range from 37.9 m to 45.6 m.

The project is located around 120 km northwest of Heligoland. EnBW obtained the site for Dreekant through an auction in June 2024 and plans to submit its approval application in 2027.

A final investment decision is planned for 2029, while Dreekant is scheduled to enter operation in 2032.
