Transocean has secured a two-well contract for the ultra-deepwater drillship Deepwater Conqueror in Equatorial Guinea, adding approximately $80 million to its contract backlog.
The drilling campaign, awarded by an undisclosed operator, is expected to run for about 170 days and begin in 2027. The $80 million backlog estimate excludes additional services and compensation related to mobilization and demobilization.
The Equatorial Guinea program is scheduled to start directly after Deepwater Conqueror completes its current contract in the U.S. Gulf.
In its fleet status report dated 5 August 2026, Transocean said Deepwater Conqueror had received a two-well contract extension in the U.S. Gulf from an undisclosed operator.
