Valeura Energy is accelerating the Wassana field redevelopment on Block G10/48 in the Gulf of Thailand, bringing forward installation of the project’s new central processing platform and the start of development drilling.
Installation of the Wassana central processing platform, or CPP, is now scheduled to begin in October 2026, around two months earlier than originally planned. Mechanical completion of the facility at the construction yard is expected by 1 October 2026.
The revised schedule creates the potential for first oil from the redevelopment at approximately the beginning of Q2 2027. Valeura Energy holds a 100% operated interest in Block G10/48.
The company has notified its drilling contractor that the Shelf Enterprise drilling rig charter will begin on 1 November 2026. The rig will first drill Nong Yao wells through additional well slots at the Nong Yao A facility before moving to Wassana for development drilling.
The accelerated schedule will shift some spending originally planned for 2027 into 2026. Valeura Energy has therefore increased its full-year 2026 Adjusted capex guidance, including exploration spending, to $220–235 million from $195–215 million.
The new Wassana CPP has an anticipated production plateau of approximately 7,500 bbls/d. Based on the earlier start-up schedule, Valeura Energy expects approximately 430,000 bbls of additional oil production in 2027 compared with the original project plan.
Valeura Energy took the final investment decision for the Wassana redevelopment in 2025. The redevelopment includes deployment of a new-build CPP, while the existing MOPU Ingenium production facility is due for decommissioning at approximately the end of 2027.
The CPP has also been designed to accommodate potential future tie-ins from satellite production facilities. Valeura Energy is reviewing exploration drilling options for an area south of the Wassana field following recent mapping that identified additional oil volumes.
