MODEC has announced the arrival of FPSO Errea Wittu in Guyana, marking the company’s first FPSO in the country.
The project involves ExxonMobil Guyana and partners across the Stabroek block. MODEC will also provide operations and maintenance services for FPSO Errea Wittu.
The vessel is based on MODEC’s new-build hull design and features a full double hull with expanded topsides. Its onboard systems include high-capacity processing, gas compression and reinjection, produced-water treatment and a SOFEC® spread mooring system intended for year-round operation.
FPSO Errea Wittu is also fitted with a Gas Turbine Combined Cycle system designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce CO₂ emissions.
According to MODEC, AI-enabled systems on the vessel are intended to support future remote operations and predictive maintenance. The systems are also designed to contribute to lower emissions and operational safety.
The project covered engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and delivery activities involving MODEC, its partners and teams in Guyana.
MODEC said its longer-term activities in Guyana will include cooperation, sharing expertise and developing skills.
