Dutch companies C-Job Naval Architects and Glomar have developed the design for an almost 80 m offshore support vessel intended to carry out a range of subsea and offshore operations from a single platform.
The vessel will be the first of its type for Glomar. Its planned operating scope includes subsea inspection, cable trenching and remotely operated vehicle work. The multifunctional configuration is intended to reduce reliance on separate specialised vessels for different offshore tasks.
The OSV will be equipped with DP2 dynamic positioning and an Ice Class notation. Its subsea arrangement includes an ROV hangar, moon pool and dedicated deck space for trenching equipment.
Accommodation will be provided for up to 60 people in 42 single cabins and nine double cabins. Onboard facilities will also include a gym, sauna and an exposed lounge area.
The propulsion system is based on a dual-fuel concept using methanol and marine gas oil. The vessel design also includes dedicated methanol tanks and battery energy storage, along with Methanol Ready and Green Plus notations.
C-Job Naval Architects and Glomar worked jointly on the design. The engineering scope included space planning, exhaust layout and renewable-fuel integration.
C-Job CEO and co-founder Job Volwater said the project combines operational flexibility with the requirements of future offshore operations.
Glomar COO Melvin Weij said the vessel was developed around specific operational needs while retaining flexibility for different offshore roles.
No construction plan, investment figure or delivery date has been announced.
