Expro has secured a multi-million-pound contract from a major UK operator for a plug and abandonment campaign in the UK North Sea.
The scope covers six firm wells, with options for a further six, across a portfolio of mature subsea wells.
For the programme, Expro will provide its 7-3/8” large bore Subsea Test Tree Assembly (SSTTA) safety system.
The system combines dual well barriers with disconnect functionality to support subsea well access during abandonment work. It will be used to help maintain well integrity while reducing operational risk and downtime during the campaign.
Carole Paley, UK Managing Director at Expro, said the company’s previous work on North Sea wells and its local resources would support delivery of the programme. The campaign is expected to continue over the coming year.
