CB&I has secured a further contract from EnQuest to continue managing the Kittiwake platform as Duty Holder through cessation of production and decommissioning in the UK North Sea.
The agreement expands the scope of CB&I’s Asset Solutions business beyond late-life operations. The team will oversee the asset through cessation of production and support the platform’s decommissioning.
Kittiwake operates as a production hub for several subsea tie-backs in the Greater Kittiwake Area. The Asset Solutions team has served as Duty Holder for the platform since 2003.
The business has supported EnQuest since 2014, having previously worked with Centrica and Venture on the asset. The team first introduced its outsourced duty holder model in 1997.
During its work on Kittiwake, the Asset Solutions team has supported operational improvements and an extension of the platform’s operating life. CB&I said the team on Kittiwake has recorded more than 20 years without a lost time incident.
John Pearson, Chief Operating Officer of CB&I Asset Solutions, said the contract would allow the team to continue its involvement with Kittiwake during the final phase of the asset’s lifecycle. He also referred to the company’s relationship with EnQuest and its experience as Duty Holder for the platform for nearly 23 years.
John Telford, Kittiwake Asset Manager at EnQuest, said the Asset Solutions team had supported the platform for more than two decades. He added that the extended agreement would maintain the companies’ joint approach as Kittiwake moves towards cessation of production and decommissioning.
