Turbine towers, nacelles and blades for Siemens Gamesa SG 14-236 DD units are arriving at Mukran Port on Germany’s Baltic Sea coast for installation at Iberdrola’s Windanker offshore wind farm.

The 315 MW project will use 21 turbines. With Siemens Gamesa’s Power Boost, each unit will be able to deliver about 15 MW.

Windanker is being built northeast of Rügen Island in German Baltic Sea waters. Together with Wikinger and Baltic Eagle, it will form Iberdrola’s Baltic Hub, an offshore wind cluster with a combined installed capacity of around 1.1 GW.

Offshore construction at Windanker is already progressing. All monopile foundations were installed last year, and all inter-array cables are now in place. Both scopes were carried out by Van Oord.

Turbine installation will be performed by DEME, which acquired Havfram last year. Havfram won the Windanker installation contract in 2024.

According to earlier company information, DEME will deploy its new jack-up vessel Norse Energi for the work, starting in June.

Windanker is expected to be completed by the end of this year and fully commissioned in 2027.
