On 18 December 2025, COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers signed a new joint venture agreement in Dammam, taking a further step to grow its activities in Saudi Arabia.

The joint venture links COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers (Southeast Asia), COSCO SHIPPING (West Asia) and Saudi Ports Services & Storage Co. (PSS). Through this partnership, the companies plan to establish COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers’ first supply chain hub in the Kingdom that brings several logistics functions under one facility.

According to the partners, the Dammam hub is meant to deepen logistics cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia and underlines COSCO SHIPPING’s long-term engagement in the Saudi market. They also say the project is structured to be in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

Once operations begin, the hub is expected, according to the company, to support more resilient supply chains in the Middle East, contribute to what it describes as more balanced and sustainable global trade, and further develop economic ties between China and Saudi Arabia.

COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers intends to continue pursuing growth in Saudi Arabia and West Asia. The company plans to adjust its fleet deployment and improve the connectivity of its regional network around the new hub.
