Zamil Offshore has selected Conoship International to develop the Concept and Basic Design for an ultra-shallow-draft Dive Support Vessel intended for subsea work in the Gulf region.
The design is based on a maximum draft of 2.5 m to enable access to restricted field depths while incorporating equipment for diving, subsea maintenance and offshore lifting operations.
Principal dimensions specified for the vessel are 76.2 m in length and 17 m in beam, with approximately 950 t deadweight and accommodation for 76 people.
The proposed layout includes a 360 m² reinforced working deck and a knuckle-boom crane with 22 m outreach and 20 t lifting capacity.
For diving and subsea operations, the design includes a dedicated diving deck and control room with LARS, ROV and dive-support systems.
Station keeping is specified through a DP2 system, with twin spud poles included for operations in shallow-water conditions. The design also incorporates five dry-bulk tanks.
Propulsion is based on two azimuth thrusters and a diesel-electric arrangement. Conoship International used CFD analysis and tank testing to refine the hull lines and water flow to the propulsion system.
The vessel design is specified to comply with ABS class requirements and the Special Purpose Ships Code.
The concept has been developed for Zamil Offshore’s subsea infrastructure activities, including maintenance work associated with regional oil and gas installations.
Conoship International’s confirmed scope covers the Concept and Basic Design phases. No shipyard selection, construction contract or delivery schedule has been announced in the sources reviewed.
