A 1,122 tonnes offshore stinger has been delivered to Genoa following shipment from Karimun aboard the heavy lift vessel Fairmaster.

The unit was fabricated at an Indonesian yard and transported to Italy for integration with an offshore installation vessel. Its arrival reflects ongoing project flows between Asia and Europe involving specialised offshore equipment.

The transport was carried out under the coordination of the JSI Alliance. Prior to sailaway, detailed 3D engineering assessments were completed covering lifting sequences, structural clearances, crane capacity and quay-side constraints. Load distribution and handling tolerances were verified in advance to align with operational limits at both ends of the voyage.

Given the mass and footprint of the steel frame, the handling plan required precise sequencing during both loading in Indonesia and discharge in Italy. As the component scale increases, operational flexibility narrows, requiring strict adherence to engineered procedures. The Italian discharge followed a mirrored methodology to the original load-out plan.

Throughout the intercontinental passage and port operations, safety protocols were integrated into each execution phase, reflecting the technical standards applied to oversized offshore structures.
