Dong Fang Offshore (DFO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Invest in Rogaland covering an assessment of the Haugesund area as a possible location for an operational base in Norway.
The agreement was signed in Stavanger by Rogaland County Mayor Ole Ueland and Dong Fang Offshore CEO Polin Chen during the Taiwan-Norway Energy Dialogue.
The dialogue formed part of a visit to Rogaland by a Taiwanese offshore wind delegation during ONS. Participants included representatives from MIRDC Taiwan, Ship and Ocean Industries R&D Center (SOIC), Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), academia, and companies from the energy and offshore wind sectors.
Invest in Rogaland will assist Dong Fang Offshore as the company evaluates the Haugesund location and considers its next steps.
The MoU does not confirm the establishment of a base, but covers the process of exploring the potential for an operational presence in the area.
