Roll Group has announced the successful completion of a major heavy cargo logistics project at the Sohar Fabrication Yard in Oman. The operation involved the load-out and transport of 22 oversized modules, executed without incident and contributing to a key regional development initiative.
The largest unit moved measured 72 meters in length, 49 meters in width, and 26 meters in height, with the heaviest module weighing 5,814 tons. In total, the project handled 31,642 tons of cargo, including decks, jackets, topsides, and various modules.
To manage the extreme weight and size, Roll Group deployed 216 Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) axle lines supported by six Power Pack Units (PPUs). The operation highlighted the company’s advanced route planning, engineering expertise, and focus on safety — achieving zero incidents throughout the execution period in 2025.
The company emphasized that the successful delivery underscores its ability to handle ultra-heavy transport projects under demanding schedules, reinforcing its position as a leading player in the heavy lift and marine transport sector.
“This achievement reflects our commitment to providing safe, timely, and reliable services,” Roll Group stated in its announcement.
