HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering announced that it has clinched a new contract valued at 651.9 billion won (approximately US$470 million) to build four container carriers for a client registered in the British Virgin Islands.
According to the company, the vessels will be constructed at HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, with handover expected during the latter half of 2028.
This latest deal raises the shipbuilder’s cumulative orders for 2025 to 90 vessels, worth about US$12.2 billion, equivalent to 67.7 percent of its full-year order target of US$18.05 billion.
The company, a core subsidiary of HD Hyundai, oversees three key affiliates: HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, and HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.
