PACC Offshore Services Holdings (POSH) has secured a major contract to tow the Nguya Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility from China to its installation site off the coast of the Republic of Congo. The project represents a critical component of ENI’s Congo LNG Phase 2 development.

The FLNG, currently located in Lvsi, Qidong, will be deployed about 50 kilometres from Pointe-Noire in waters around 33 metres deep. With an annual production capacity of 2.4 million tonnes of LNG, equivalent to roughly 3.3 billion cubic metres of natural gas, the unit will play a key role in strengthening the country’s energy infrastructure.

For the transoceanic tow, POSH will mobilize three ocean-going tugs, complemented by an additional tug positioned in Congolese waters to support the hook-up process. Once on site, the FLNG will be connected to a specialized SSY mooring system. Engineering work, including station-keeping and mooring hookup operations, will be managed in collaboration with project partners.

POSH emphasized that this marks its first cooperation with Wison New Energies, the builder of the unit, highlighting its commitment to delivering safe and reliable marine solutions for complex offshore energy projects.
