Dutch offshore services company Jack-Up Barge has expanded its fleet with JB 121, a three-legged accommodation and services jack-up capable of housing 354 personnel and supporting offshore lifting and installation operations.
The unit features a 200-tonne working load limit (WLL) main crane mounted on a cantilever, together with two 50-tonne auxiliary cranes. Approximately 1,340 m² of deck space is available for equipment storage and offshore work activities.
Built by Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore (DSOC) in China, JB 121 is based on the AJ46-360-C design developed by GustoMSC. According to the shipyard’s official announcement, the platform is designed to operate in water depths exceeding 350 ft.
The jack-up has three truss-type legs and a rack-and-pinion jacking system. Its triangular hull arrangement and V-shaped accommodation block are designed to support extended offshore operations.
JB 121 is intended for offshore installation, commissioning, maintenance and accommodation campaigns. Jack-Up Barge has identified offshore wind as a particular area of application, while DSOC also lists offshore infrastructure construction and decommissioning among the unit’s potential uses.
The company began acquiring JB 121 earlier in 2026 as part of its fleet development programme. The unit joins JB 114, JB 115, JB 117 and JB 120 in its offshore support fleet.
A naming ceremony was held at DSOC’s Dalian yard on 23 October 2026. Yu Yuan, a member of the shipyard’s board, served as the unit’s godmother, while Maartje Van Es, owner of Van Es Holding, formally named the platform JB 121.
In its 3 November announcement, Jack-Up Barge said the unit was scheduled to depart Dalian for the Netherlands in early November. No initial commercial assignment was disclosed.
