Noble Corporation has been awarded a contract by ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS for the ultra-harsh environment jackup Noble Interceptor to carry out plug and abandonment work in the Greater Ekofisk Area offshore Norway.
The contract is expected to start in the third quarter of 2027 and has an estimated duration of 670 days. The companies did not disclose the contract value or the number of wells covered by the programme.
The Greater Ekofisk Area is operated by ConocoPhillips in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, approximately 300 km southwest of Stavanger. The area includes the Ekofisk, Eldfisk, Embla, Tor and Tommeliten A fields.
Noble Interceptor is a Gusto MSC CJ70 X150 MD-design jackup built in 2014 by Keppel FELS in Singapore. The unit is designed for ultra-harsh environment operations.
The award adds the rig to ConocoPhillips‘ planned plug and abandonment activities in the Greater Ekofisk Area from 2027.
