Huisman has secured a contract from CIMC Raffles Offshore to supply an integrated lifting and handling package for a new deepwater offshore installation vessel being built for a joint venture between Solstad Offshore and SBM Offshore.
The equipment package comprises a 350 t A-frame, a 500 t Knuckle Boom Crane, a 20 t Auxiliary Crane and a 2,500 t basket for storing flexibles, fibre ropes and mooring chains.
The A-frame will deploy rope from the vessel’s main winch package and will incorporate Huisman’s patented Active Heave Compensation technology. The system is intended to support offshore operations in challenging conditions.
The A-frame and cranes will provide lifting and handling capacity for a range of offshore construction and installation activities.
The contract is Huisman’s first project for the joint venture between Solstad Offshore and SBM Offshore. It also continues the company’s cooperation with CIMC Raffles Offshore.
