Zupt and Mitang have signed a framework agreement covering subsea surveys, inertial and remote metrology, and 3D modeling in Brazil. Through this partnership, Mitang becomes the Brazilian partner for Houston-based Zupt. It became effective on 30 September 2026.

Announced by Zupt on 14 October, the partnership involves Rio de Janeiro-based Mitang Brasil – Soluções Submarinas Ltda. The companies intend to pursue offshore assignments for operating companies and contractors.

Mitang will coordinate commercial activities in Brazil and support operations, including arrangements with logistics suppliers and customs handling. Zupt will remain responsible for technical supervision of its procedures and the resulting reports and other deliverables.

The partners plan to make C-PINS and 3D Recon equipment accessible locally for forthcoming work. Zupt says this is intended to limit repeated cross-border equipment shipments and help teams respond to changes in schedules or work requirements.

C-PINS records dimensions for the fabrication of subsea jumpers and spools. Survey staff can operate offshore, or a shore-based team can manage data collection remotely with the equipment deployed offshore.

The 3D Recon system creates detailed models of underwater structures. They allow non-contact measurement and support inspection work and engineering evaluations. Its applications also cover dimensional control, monitoring of anode depletion and corrosion, and integrity management.

Mitang‘s capabilities cover LBL positioning and USBL calibration, as well as hydrographic surveys, dimensional control and data processing.

Zupt is part of Switzerland’s Rosenxt Group. On 30 July 2026, Rosenxt announced that Rosenxt Holding USA LLC had acquired the company as it develops a combined subsea portfolio covering technology and engineering.
