SK oceanplant has completed the first sail-away of jacket foundations for the Fengmiao 1 offshore wind project in Taiwan, marking the start of foundation deliveries for the project.
The first shipment included two jacket foundations. The company said it will continue delivering the remaining foundations while maintaining a focus on safe project execution.
Fengmiao 1 is a 495 MW offshore wind project being developed off the coast of Taichung, Taiwan. The project is being developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and is expected to install 33 offshore wind turbines.
Under the project, SK oceanplant is responsible for the fabrication and supply of jacket foundations. The first sail-away marks the beginning of offshore transportation of the company’s fabricated foundations to the project site.
The company thanked CIP for its continued collaboration on the project and acknowledged the employees and project teams involved in achieving the first shipment milestone.
