Petrobras has completed the acquisition of a 75% interest in Block 3 and assumed operatorship of the offshore area in São Tomé and Príncipe.
The transaction follows the company’s announcement on 17 April 2026.
The Block 3 consortium now consists of Petrobras as operator with a 75% stake, Oranto with 15%, and the National Petroleum Agency of São Tomé and Príncipe with 10%.
Petrobras said the transaction is aligned with its strategy of replenishing oil and gas reserves through exploration in new frontier areas in Brazil and abroad, as set out in its Business Plan.
The company is also evaluating new opportunities to diversify its exploration portfolio and support value creation and the long-term sustainability of its business.
