Vestigo Petroleum Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of PETRONAS Carigali, has confirmed that a fire occurred at its West Lutong Vent A (WLV-A) facility offshore Sarawak at approximately 2:00 p.m. on 28 June 2026.
The company said the fire has been brought under control. An investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing.
According to Vestigo, it is working with the relevant authorities and has implemented precautionary measures to manage any potential risk of exposure.
The company reported that no injuries were recorded and no personnel were affected. It also stated that the incident posed no immediate threat to nearby communities or the surrounding environment.
