ExxonMobil Guyana Limited is continuing development drilling at the Uaru Project’s UA_4P04 drill center in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana, according to a notice from the Maritime Administration Department.
The campaign began on 12 March 2026 within Guyana’s Exclusive Economic Zone. MARAD said the MODU Noble Tom Madden is carrying out the work, with drilling set to continue until 30 April 2026.
The drill center is located about 98.4 nautical miles, or 182.2 km, offshore and covers roughly 0.29 square nautical miles, equal to 1 sq km.
MARAD said vessels involved in the operation will display the international signal for ships engaged in such activities. The authority also instructed mariners to keep clear of the vessels and use extreme caution when navigating nearby.
The Uaru development is valued at $12.7 billion and targets more than 800 million barrels of recoverable oil. The project is planned with up to 10 drill centers and 44 wells, with peak production designed to reach 250,000 barrels per day.
For the field’s production phase, MODEC is building the Errea Wittu floating production, storage and offloading vessel, which will process and store output from the development.
In the Stabroek Block, ExxonMobil holds a 45% operating interest. Hess owns 30%, while CNOOC holds the remaining 25%.
