Wison New Energies marked the start of trial production at its Qidong Yard in the Lusi Port Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Province, and reported 6 million LTI-free man-hours for the infrastructure project. The move signals the yard’s shift from a construction phase to production and operational readiness, reinforcing the company’s high-end manufacturing footprint and large-scale delivery capacity for international work.

Positioned for fabrication and integration of large floating facilities and modules, the Qidong Yard covers about 1.2 million m² and includes a 1,372 m coastline. The site features an offshore dock measuring 520 m (L) × 90 m (W). The yard has started fabricating its first batch of blocks, bringing core production lines and processes into substantive operation.

From early planning through build-out, the yard has been set up to improve manufacturing efficiency and management effectiveness. With intelligent and digitalized production lines, it has introduced smart manufacturing systems across key activities including hull construction, module fabrication, piping, and painting, creating a coordinated production management framework. These capabilities are expected to lift productivity and reduce labor intensity, supporting repeatable execution for large-scale and complex projects.

Wang Wei, Executive DGM of Qidong Yard, said the trial-production launch is a key step in strengthening green, scaled, and smart manufacturing capabilities while supporting continued business expansion. He added that the yard will accelerate capacity ramp-up and keep improving operational efficiency and quality consistency.

With Qidong Yard entering trial production, Wison New Energies said it will further refine its manufacturing layout and enhance large-scale delivery and full lifecycle support for high-end equipment. The company reaffirmed its focus on providing global clients with reliable and efficient EPCIC solutions that support a lower-carbon and more diversified energy mix.
