Transocean Ltd. confirmed on October 1, 2025, that two of its ultra-deepwater drillships will continue operations under extended contracts, securing approximately $243 million in firm backlog.

In the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, bp exercised a 365-day option for the Deepwater Atlas, adding an estimated $232 million in revenue backlog. Meanwhile, Petrobras extended the Deepwater Mykonos program in Brazil by 30 days, contributing around $11 million.

Transocean operates 27 mobile offshore drilling units, including 20 ultra-deepwater and seven harsh-environment floaters, maintaining one of the most advanced fleets in the industry.
