Japan has approved up to ¥213.1bn for shipyard projects led by Imabari Shipbuilding, Japan Marine United and Namura Shipbuilding as it moves to expand domestic construction capacity.

Namura Shipbuilding is advancing plans for a new large construction dock as Japan targets 18 million gt of annual shipbuilding capacity by 2035.
