BW Offshore has signed a FEED agreement with Equinor for the FPSO planned for the $12 billion Bay du Nord oil project offshore Canada.

Equinor is weighing whether Bay du Nord FPSO topsides modules can be fabricated in Newfoundland & Labrador, as Premier Tony Wakeham, unions and contractors seek local work while cost and skills concerns remain.

Upstream reports that BW Offshore has acquired the former Nganhurra FPSO and is reviewing three potential redeployment options. The unit’s operating history and adaptable design support consideration for future projects.
