Polish shipyard Partner Stocznia has awarded Vuyk Engineering a contract to design a new 3,000 m³ trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD).

The vessel is being developed as a compact dredger combining its hopper, trailing suction system and propulsion arrangement within one platform. Vuyk Engineering prepared the design in collaboration with Partner Stocznia.

The newbuild is intended to carry out maintenance work and provide support for dredging projects. Its dredging equipment will be incorporated into the hull and deck arrangement to make use of the available space within the vessel’s compact dimensions.

The power and propulsion configuration has been matched to the operating profile of a mid-size dredger, with both navigation requirements and dredging performance considered in the design.

The vessel’s general arrangement also provides space for operational systems and dredging equipment while retaining the compact TSHD layout.
