Hanwha Ocean has secured a contract to build two very large crude oil tankers (VLCCs), its second VLCC contract in around two weeks. The Okpo-based yard reported the deal in a filing to the Korea Stock Exchange on Tuesday.

According to the disclosure, the order is worth KRW 353.6 billion (about $254 million) and covers two VLCC newbuildings for an undisclosed shipping company based in Oceania. Hanwha Ocean identified the customer only as a shipowner from that region and has not released the company’s name.

The filing stated that the pair of tankers is scheduled for delivery to the owner by December 2028. No additional technical details of the vessels were included in the announcement.
