Delfin Midstream has issued a limited notice to proceed to Siemens Energy for long-lead equipment for its second floating LNG production vessel, FLNG2, which will be located offshore Louisiana.

The order covers four SGT-750 gas turbines and mixed-refrigerant compressors. It forms part of the preparations for a final investment decision on the project, targeted by the end of 2026.

At the same time, Delfin Midstream and MidOcean Energy, an LNG company formed and managed by EIG, have signed agreements allowing MidOcean Energy to acquire an equity interest of up to 50% in the FLNG2 project.

The proposed investment would give MidOcean Energy a corresponding share of LNG production. Completion remains subject to a positive final investment decision and customary conditions.

FLNG2 is expected to have a nameplate production capacity of 4.4 mtpa. The vessel will use the same design as FLNG1, which reached final investment decision on 3 June 2026 and is now in the execution phase.

The second vessel will be connected to existing offshore pipeline infrastructure at the Delfin Deepwater Port. Following a positive investment decision, the development would move to a full notice to proceed and the wider engineering, procurement and construction scope.

Delfin Midstream and MidOcean Energy are also working on pre-development activities for a possible third floating LNG vessel, FLNG3, following the FLNG2 project.
