The heavy transport vessel Zhen Hua 33, operated by COSCO Heavy Transport, has departed Qinzhou, China, carrying the second batch of eight XXL monopiles for the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm project in Scotland. The shipment left on 21 September 2025 and is scheduled to arrive at Forth Ports Limited Leith.
The monopiles were fabricated at the CWHI Qinzhou Yard. This shipment follows the first batch delivered earlier in September 2025, maintaining the project’s construction timeline.
The Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm is regarded as one of the UK’s major offshore renewable energy projects, requiring the transport of large-scale foundation structures. Vessels such as the Zhen Hua 33 are specifically designed to handle oversized cargo, making them suitable for monopile transportation.
