Boskalis Westminster has secured a six-year framework agreement for beach management in England through the VBA joint venture with VolkerStevin and AtkinsRéalis.

Awarded by the Environment Agency, the framework will see the joint venture focus on beach management, coastal protection and flood-risk reduction across England. The agreement forms a central part of the agency’s long-term strategy to protect the country’s coastline from climate change, sea-level rise and extreme weather.

The work is also aimed at safeguarding homes, businesses, transport links and vital infrastructure in some of England’s exposed coastal locations.

Boskalis Westminster has completed numerous coastal protection projects in the United Kingdom over the past century, supporting efforts to protect coastal communities and infrastructure.

The company said it looks forward to working with VolkerStevin and AtkinsRéalis under the framework agreement and thanked the Environment Agency for its trust.
