The heavy-lift vessel MV Kang Sheng Kou, operated by COSCO SHIPPING Specialized, departed Qidong Port, China, on October 2 carrying components for the Ridley Island Energy Export Facility (REEF) in British Columbia, Canada.

The cargo includes large industrial modules and cylindrical units required for construction of the export facility. These components were loaded at Qidong before the vessel began its Pacific voyage.

As of October 3, the vessel is sailing through the East China Sea, continuing its route toward Canada’s west coast. Upon arrival, the cargo will be delivered to Ridley Island for installation within the REEF project.

The REEF terminal, under development by AltaGas and Vopak, is intended to expand Canada’s capacity for exporting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and related products.
