BOMESC has won an FPSO topside contract with an estimated value of RMB 2.4 billion–3 billion from Single Buoy Moorings Inc., an SBM Offshore subsidiary. Completion is planned for April 2029.

The agreement was signed by Tianjin BOMESC Offshore Engineering, a wholly owned BOMESC subsidiary, and became effective on 25 October 2026. Its scope includes module design, materials purchasing and fabrication.

BOMESC disclosed that the price combines a fixed component with a variable component based on estimated work quantities. The parties will determine the final value from the work actually completed.

The modules will be fabricated at the company’s Lingang construction base and handed over on an FOB basis at its wharf. Payments are tied to work progress and contractual milestones.

In September, BOMESC secured a separate topside contract from the same customer, estimated at RMB 1.6 billion–2.1 billion. Effective from 24 September 2026, the earlier agreement covers an FPSO destined for South America, with completion targeted for the second half of 2028.

BOMESC is also planning to expand No. 2 wharf at its Tianjin yard. The proposed layout includes an FPSO outfitting berth for the 300,000-tonne class and a barge berth for the 63,000-tonne class, occupying 615 metres of shoreline. It would also permit simultaneous berthing of two FPSOs in the 150,000-tonne class.

The wider yard expansion would increase quay length from approximately 700 metres to 1,300 metres and enable assembly work on three FPSOs at once.

Tianjin Daily reported on 21 September that five new workshops for coating work were scheduled to open before the close of 2026, bringing a 30% increase in coating capacity. BOMESC is also developing automated welding capabilities.
