Pacifico Energy Vietnam has received a sea survey licence from Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment for the Nam Trung Bo 3 offshore wind project in Lam Dong Province, which is planned with capacity of up to 1,300 MW.
The licence allows Pacifico Energy to conduct technical and environmental studies within the approved offshore area. Preliminary desktop work will be followed by a field campaign planned for 2027.
The 2027 programme will collect seabed, wind, metocean and environmental baseline data, with geotechnical and geophysical surveys also planned. The findings will be used to assess site conditions and support further project development.
Nam Trung Bo 3 is included in Vietnam’s Adjusted Power Development Plan VIII. Decision 768/QD-TTg, approved on 15 April 2025, lists the project at 1,300 MW with an expected operating period of 2031–2035.
Pacifico Energy said the survey work will support subsequent investment and permitting steps for the project.
The Nam Trung Bo 3 licence follows approval secured by Pacifico Energy in February 2026 to survey the 500 MW Nam Bo PE2.1 offshore wind project.
According to the company, the two projects together represent 1.8 GW of planned offshore wind capacity in Vietnam.
