OEG will provide corrosion protection systems for the Gennaker Offshore Wind Farm in the German Baltic Sea under a contract awarded by OWP Gennaker GmbH.
The offshore wind project is being developed by Skyborn Renewables. OEG’s work will cover Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) systems for the wind turbine foundations, with the equipment intended to provide corrosion protection during the operating life of the wind farm.
The contract includes engineering and procurement activities as well as oversight of manufacturing. OEG will also be responsible for offshore logistics, system installation, testing and commissioning.
For the subsea installation, OEG will work with CORROSION, a specialist in cathodic protection. The companies plan to use the ICCP-Subsea Assembly Method (SAM), a remotely operated installation approach they developed jointly for offshore subsea structures.
Work will start with engineering and procurement. Manufacturing support and system integration will follow before the offshore installation phase, which will be carried out in accordance with the wind farm’s construction schedule.
The contract also adds another offshore wind project to OEG’s European subsea portfolio. Its activities in this area cover construction and installation work, cathodic protection, ROV services, survey and positioning, inspection and maintenance, cable-related support, and offshore engineering and project management.
