The United Kingdom’s High Court has dismissed an appeal in a case seeking US$832.2 million from three wholly owned subsidiaries of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding. The court also refused the claimants’ application for permission to appeal further.

In a company filing on Monday, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding said certain entities had originally brought the case in 2022 against Jiangsu Tianchen Marine Import & Export, Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding, and Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding.

The dispute involved an alleged breach of contract linked to 10 shipbuilding agreements with a combined value of about US$900 million. The claim covered US$832.2 million for alleged loss of bargain and loss of profits.

In March 2025, the group said a London arbitration tribunal did not uphold the claims against the three subsidiaries.

In June 2025, the group said the High Court had granted the claimants leave to appeal, although the timing of the later appeal was not disclosed.
