Inchcape Shipping Services has opened a new office in Geoje, bringing its presence in South Korea to three locations—Seoul, Busan and Geoje—and enabling operations across 23 ports nationwide.
Geoje remains one of Korea’s principal centres for shipbuilding and offshore development, supporting LNG carrier, container vessel, naval ship and offshore platform construction. Its position within global shipping and energy activity has made the area a focal point for complex maritime work.
Inchcape’s recent activity in Geoje includes FPSO sail-away operations for projects bound for Brazil, coordinated drillship support across major shipyards, and government service assignments within Hanwha Ocean’s restricted zone, where the company handled controlled access, 24/7 crew scheduling and on-site support for naval vessels. The company has also facilitated departures of wind jack-up units for offshore wind projects.
Korea Country Manager Sichang Lee noted that the new location places the team closer to the centre of Korea’s shipbuilding industry and supports a wide range of offshore and vessel operators.
The Geoje office will concentrate on Government & Defence and Marine & Offshore segments in the Geoje–Busan region, while Seoul will continue its work with containers, tankers, bulks, liners, cruise activity and crew management.
Services available through the new office include port and protective agency work, crew logistics, offshore project support, bonded warehousing, customs clearance, vessel husbandry, survey and inspection, bunkering, P&I matters, port captaincy, sanitary certifications, immigration support, site-office management and administrative assistance, along with corporate event coordination.
With this addition, Inchcape broadens its operational coverage in South Korea, supporting maritime and offshore projects with a strengthened local presence.
