The UK P&I Club and TT Club have entered talks to explore the possibility of merging, as both mutual insurers seek to strengthen their position in the maritime insurance market.
The two clubs have maintained a long-standing relationship through their common manager, Thomas Miller. Following recent meetings in November, the boards of both organizations have agreed to further investigate the benefits of a merger. These discussions remain in the preliminary stages and are expected to continue for several months.

According to Jan Valkier, chairman of the UK P&I Club, the potential merger is in line with the organization’s focus on scaling up, diversifying, and ensuring long-term growth. He added, “This merger could create a dominant force in maritime and transport insurance, offering superior service supported by strengthened financial resources.”
