bp Trinidad and Tobago (bpTT) announced on 20 November 2025 the safe completion of the Cypre seven-well drilling programme, following first gas delivered in April 2025.
The Cypre development connects seven subsea wells to the Juniper platform. Four wells were drilled and completed at the end of 2024, supporting the April 2025 first gas milestone. The remaining three wells have now been drilled, completed and commissioned.
At peak, Cypre is expected to produce 45,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, equal to about 250 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. It is bpTT’s third subsea development.
David Campbell, bpTT president, said the safe delivery strengthens bpTT’s work in the Columbus Basin. He noted that this achievement comes during a strong year marked by the Frangipani gas discovery and first gas from the Mento project with joint-venture partner EOG.
The Cypre field lies 78 km off Trinidad’s southeast coast in the East Mayaro Block, at 80 m water depth. It is 100% owned by bpTT, a venture of bp (70%) and Repsol (30%). bpTT’s wider operations include 12 offshore platforms, three subsea installations, and two onshore processing facilities.
