Yinson Production marked the naming of FSO PTSC Lac Da Vang (FSO PTSC LDV) on 23 June 2026, reaching a key milestone before the vessel’s deployment to the Lac Da Vang oil field offshore Vietnam.
The ceremony represented an important stage in the vessel’s construction program and highlighted the collaborative work of project teams, partners and stakeholders involved in advancing the development.
Contracted by Murphy Cuu Long Bac Oil Co. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Murphy Oil Corporation, FSO PTSC LDV will provide storage and offloading services for the Lac Da Vang field in Block 15-1/05 offshore Vietnam. The agreement includes a firm 10-year period, with an option to extend for up to five additional years.
Built as a new double-hull floating storage and offloading vessel, FSO PTSC LDV has a storage capacity of approximately 500,000 barrels. The vessel incorporates dual-fuel systems designed to support operational efficiency and lower-emission operations, with safety, reliability and operational performance central to its design.
The naming ceremony followed the vessel’s successful launch at Nantong StrongWind Shipyard in China earlier in 2026. The project is now progressing through final outfitting, commissioning and testing. FSO PTSC LDV is preparing for sail-away and deployment to the Lac Da Vang field, where operations are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Flemming Guiducci Grønnegaard, Chief Executive Officer of Yinson Production, said the naming marked an important step toward deployment and first operations at the Lac Da Vang field. He added that the project reflected the strength of the partnership with PTSC and the dedication of the teams involved in bringing the vessel to this stage.
The project further strengthens the long-standing cooperation between Yinson Production and PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC). Through PTSC Asia Pacific and other joint ventures, the companies have operated offshore assets in Vietnam for more than a decade, including FSO PTSC Bien Dong 01 since 2013 and FPSO PTSC Lam Son since 2014.
Representatives from Yinson Production, PTSC, Murphy Oil Corporation, PetroVietnam, Ocean Marine & Offshore Investment, Nantong StrongWind Shipyard and other project stakeholders attended the naming ceremony.
