On 16 January 2026, VARD delivered NB 982, the commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) Norwind Maestro, for Norwind Offshore and Navigare Capital. The vessel was handed over from Vard Søviknes and is set to move into offshore wind service.

The project was contracted in October 2024 with Navigare Capital, in close cooperation with Norwind Offshore. NB 982 is the fifth newbuild from VARD that will be operated by Norwind Offshore, extending a collaboration focused on offshore wind operations.

The CSOV is based on the VARD 4 19 design from Vard Design. Construction was carried out at Vard Shipyards Romania, where the Braila team advanced the vessel from hull stage to a completed platform. Final outfitting, commissioning, and completion took place at Vard Søviknes in Norway.

Several deliveries came from VARD subsidiaries. Vard Electro supplied the SeaQ Integrated Bridge System and prepared the vessel for SeaQ Green Pilot, providing digital insight with a detailed energy-consumption overview; SeaQ IAS, PMS, and EMS support control and monitoring of the hybrid energy systems. Seaonics provided an all-electric lift-and-handling package, including a 30 m ECMC walk-to-work gangway and a 7 t 3D-compensated crane—its third gangway delivery to Norwind Offshore. Vard Interiors delivered interior solutions together with green HVAC-R and piping systems for onboard living and working conditions.
